Confirmed from Kids Towne Park and Dog Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“There’s only two portal potties; clean but not lighted.”

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“Great park takes awhile to dry out after rain, wood chips, but you have some shade.”

My kids really enjoyed our time at this park! We never know what adventures await. Maybe we will see a dog, play on the playground, take a walk, or have a picnic. There are so many fun things to do here. They even have two different bark parks: one for small dogs & one for big dogs.

Great park takes awhile to dry out after rain, wood chips, but you have some shade. There is also a ditch, mostly gravel, that after a rain kids can hunt for critters. Trail and tennis courts nearby.

★★★★★ — Kfr , Feb 2026

Awesome playground and swing sets for children, there are walking trails, a huge adjoining dog park, tennis courts, and a covered pavilion with many tables for parents to sit + a few scattered picnic tables next to the playground - as well new restrooms are being constructed.

Love the wood-built castle playground! Such much fun to walk with the wife or imagine with the kids! Wish the walking trail around the park were better maintained and laid but having tennis courts there too is a job well done:)

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 20 mentions

“Dog park was great as was Halloween dress up thing put on by parks and recreation judges not so much!”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
