Confirmed from Kimmel Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Kimmel Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (340 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 6 mentions

“It was a very clean and comfortable park.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“Very relaxing and has a beautiful view of the river plus you see amazing sunsets.”

This new river walk is very clean. And very safe for children we had four kids ages 2,6,10, and we did not have to worry about their safety, the fence or railings to the river were very well though out.

Pleasant place to walk around, by the Wabash. Owned by the University now. A long time ago, it was a shantytown where people hunted for pearls in the river. It was also dead-center for the 2024 eclipse. It's right behind the steel bridge factory my grandpa and great-grandpa used to work at.

Loved it! Went in the evening time and there was a nice breeze! They have re-done it and it looks very nice! They have a sidewalk next to the river for walking! I recommend going and enjoying the river! Very calming!!

Absolutely beautiful! Great place to picnic or walk and probably fish, although we didn't fish.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 9 mentions

“We drove from south central Kentucky up to Vincennes, Indiana to view the eclipse on April 8, 2024.”

🅿️ Trailhead parking 4 mentions
