Confirmed from Kinsey Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Really well kept beginner friendly mtb trails.”

I LOVE THIS PARK! I’ve been here on hikes and walks before, but I finally got my mountain bike restored (after many years of not using it), and today was my first spin. It was perfect!!

This was my first time out at Kinsey Park and I already can't wait to go back! Trails were very well maintained, no fallen trees in any of the paths, not too wide, and not too narrow.

★★★★★ — Ryan , Aug 2019

My new favorite place. It feels very different from other Peoria area parks. Great for either hiking or biking!

★★★★★ — Kathy , Oct 2020

A hidden gem located right off route 8. I didn’t know central Illinois had hills for mountain biking.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🌲 Natural surface / singletrack 4 mentions

“It's largely single-track routes with trails cleverly named for things related to The Wizard of Oz.”

“I warmed up on the flat “Munchkin” trails on the sides, then stayed on green trails the rest of the time, ending with a very steep but rideable hill down the main Farm Road trail.”

“There are also trails right off the parking area on each side that are flat for kids, or for anyone that doesn't want to walk/ride up into the woods.”

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
