Confirmed from Kokiwanee - ACRES Land Trust's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Kokiwanee - ACRES Land Trust
“We couldn't find the waterfall, but the trails were beautiful!”
We have visited twice so far and have really enjoyed the beauty of the trails and the nature that surrounds them. The trails are mostly unmarked once you start out on one so you just have to wander until you get the lay of the land.
Nice gem of a place near Lagro. Went in early spring and will be back! Trails maps are available online & while the trail is not marked well, it’s easy to explore and compact. Just wandering we were able to find the waterfall trail which basically is down by the river. Need a decent & recent rain to see them.
I love the trails around this place. Some of them run parallel to the stream and it's so pretty. The kissing falls looks spectacular during winter.
Beautiful scenery! I give it 4/5 stars because the trail signage definitely needs some attention. This is more of a “let’s-take-this-trail-and-see-where-we-end-up” situation. But they all seem tocombine at different points so you’ll get around one way or another.
Trail conditions & character
“My husband and I decided to find some new trails and found this one that had a waterfall only around an hour from Fort Wayne.”
“Some of the trails were muddy and were more difficult.”
Plan your run at Kokiwanee - ACRES Land Trust
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
