Confirmed from Lacamas Creek Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏃 great for running 2 mentions

“One of my favorite local running places.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“Free Parking, easy trails, beautiful river.”

No parking fee Dog friendly / bike friendly Restrooms yes A place to get good walking in for a few miles but my only dislike is how the signs don’t show all the trails and you can get a little lost. There is a playground by the lake along with second bathrooms.

★★★★☆ — Kendall , Jul 2025

One of my favorite day hikes! Beautiful scenery with lots of creeks and waterfalls with a lake at the end of the trail.

★★★★★ — Amber , Jan 2025

One of my favorite local running places. Lush rainforest, climate with waterfalls, lakes, and rugged terrain.

★★★★★ — Timothy , Feb 2025

Free Parking, easy trails, beautiful river. If you can't find parking closer to the lake this is a good option. I thoroughly enjoyed the easy hike along the river. Very chill atmosphere and lovely people. There is a great place to cliff dive, but you do have to lower yourself down a steep hill with a climbing rope.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 9 mentions

“One our favorite trails, especially in spring when the waterfalls are full and the lilies and trillium are in bloom.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
