Confirmed from Lagoon Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Lagoon Trail
“It is quite impressive how tranquil this trail is able to feel considering how close it is to lagoon as well as several neighborhoods, it is absolutely gorgeous!”
“Good shade in the beginning but does get more exposed further down so be prepared for sun/heat.”
“If you need an easy walk with small kids it’s fabulous.”
I love how this trail connects with the Farmington creek trail. This is a lot of fun its right behind Lagoon and you can actually see some of the animals like the elk and buffalo. This trail connects in with the legacy trail head as well. Lots of trees, well-kept. it’s nice.
Loved the plaved and shaded trail that wanders around Lagoon. So fun to see the rides, and the animals. Stroller friendly.
Good place. Nice for short walks. Its kind of noise if Lagoon Park is open. Overall its good.
Flat rail that is mostly shaded. Short and bridges over the creek. Great for photo opportunities. Especially nice in fall

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
