Confirmed from Woodland Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Woodland Park
“I like to come when I get off work, I just throw my blanket and see the beautiful mountains in front of me.”
“Very nice and quiet, walking trains and a nice water creek that runs through.”
This park is a gem! Once you enter it's as if you're miles away from all the busyness of the world. There are so many trees that surround the entire park with trails throughout, a very large pavillion, an amphitheater, volleyball court that's well maintained, a large grassy area, a stream running through and firepits…
This is really the best park I've ever been to. My parents renewed their vows there, and I now take my dog there. I love the little creek running through, and the secluded BBQ spots in the trees. There's no place like it I've ever seen. The sanded volleyball court and picnic tables hidden throughout are gems....
A beautiful area to Walk the Dog, draw backs are it's on the Farmington Police property reason not many visit here, you have to Park in the Police park area, I checked for other access to the area, None, but Cops or No Cops beautiful area worth checking out...
Majestic park filled with forested trails and picnic spots. It was very relaxing and it was a great place to spend my morning.

“Also, one of the few parks that allows dogs so please don't give the city a reason to take that privilege away by being responsible, considerate of others, and pick up after them.”
“Very nice and quiet, walking trains and a nice water creek that runs through.”
“To access the parking lot you have to drive through the Police Station parking lot and go down the hill.”

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
