Beautiful day, trail was clean and well marked, passed several people on the trail, even met a cool local guy named Ephram who was brave enough to take his e-bike up and back down (posted his epic pics with his permission). I personally wouldn’t recommend it, but it was pretty impressive to say the least!
Cool trail but it's really hot. Bring LOTS of water, a hat, and maybe even a soaked bandana, towel, or shirt to keep yourself cool. If you sunburn, wear sunscreen. Also, there are rattlesnakes on this trail so be vigilant that you don't run into one, I almost did.
Very steep trail, but with a couple of really great stops along the way. There is an abandoned mineshaft, some great rocks for bouldering, and, of course, a great view from the top.
There are many trails that can lead you to Flag Rock. I usually prefer to come up from the South, near Steed Creek, coming up past Patsy’s Mine and the return on the trail that leads down the North side. The North side has a lot of tree cover providing shade on hot days and beautiful color in the fall.
