Great park with a long, scenic boardwalk. Theres also a nice beach area on the lake as well as a playground for kids.
Lake Ashby Park is a hidden gem in central Florida halfway between Sanford and Daytona Beach! It is FREE to access, and is a beautiful, well-kept, and peaceful park complete with a boardwalk over Lake Ashby, hiking trail, horseback riding trails, a playground, plenty of parking, an easy access road (all paved, no dirt…
Don’t miss the right turn into the park! Wonderful playground. I’d like to think it’s safe since a sheriff vehicle is at the private residence there. Plenty of parking, picnic tables, grills, volleyball, covered pavilion. Trails and boardwalk are the perks for me. Didn’t use bathrooms so can’t comment on those.
Well kept and a beautiful walking experience. If you walk to the boardwalk, bring bug spray, there are a ton of mosquitoes in the woods. The grounds are nice and clean and there are plenty of trashcans and parking spots. The bathrooms were also surprisingly clean!
