Confirmed from Lake Ida West Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Lake Ida West Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (489 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 6 mentions

“Lake is wide enough to whip the jet ski and hit top speeds and clean enough that you aren't afraid to step in.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Beautiful park with walking trails, accessible shore line fishing, and a dog park for your furry friends.”

Simply the best park I have ever been to. The scenery is fantastic! I visit as often as I can to walk along the trail or to relax and mediate and pray! If you have kids there is a playground area as well lots of picnic tables with individual BBQ

★★★★★ — Briana , Apr 2025

I use the park primarily as a walking path, one complete loop is approximately two miles. Enjoy the shores of Lake Ida and it's scenic beauty.

Very nice park. Today was our first time checking it out, the boys wanted to try a new fishing spot. While there is shore access, it's probably best with a kayak or small boat. We had fun walking around and trying a few spots. We will be back better set up to hook up with some fish.

Great place for young kids. Playground, walking trails, pretty lake scenery, not at all crowded, clean, public facilities.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
