Great place to hike and see nature. We really enjoyed our time here, it's beautiful. Also, there are swamp tours at Lake Martin as well, so you can hike around and then boat through the swamp! Beautiful area.
This is a beautiful area to hike. It's super flat and easy, but still very nice. Don't follow the map, just take Lake Martin road to Rookery road, turn right and go until you reach the yellow gate. There's parking for at least 6 cars easily. The trail goes around the lake, and there's a few that go off into the woods.
A short boardwalk as well as some primitive trails. A nice stop to enjoy the bayou without needing a boat. I wish the boardwalk was a bit longer, but it's a nice spot to try to spot wildlife.
A wonderful, short boardwalk trail through a cypress swamp. You will wish they had made it longer and further into the marsh and lake.
