Confirmed from Lake Overlook Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Lake Overlook Trail
“This trail brings you around the entirety of the lake there are beautiful statues and fun hills.”
This is a moderately challenging trail with an excellent view of the lake and the mountains. Trailhead has plenty parking spaces, clean restrooms and drinking water. The trail starts with a climb to about 200ft and then goes up and down for about 45 minutes. There are plenty of park benches along the way.
A great in town hike. Beautiful views of the fountain park, four peaks and the superstition mountains. Nice and easy but just enough elevation gain to feel like you've done something.
Nice, well maintained, trail that skirts around the lake. Beautiful views of the Fountain, Red Mountain, Four Peaks and the McDowell Mountains.
I’m not a big hiker but it was an easy and fun trail. They have benches for you to rest and take in the full view of the lake.
