Confirmed from Lake Superior State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This large public recreation space around a lake & pond offers a sandy beach with a boat launch.
What runners say about Lake Superior State Park
“I visited Lake Superior with the entire family, we had a ball, and the picnic area was clean and was well taken care of.”
“Water is great to swim in too… what a beautiful way to beat the Hot Summer in the City Heat!”
“We went in the boats with kids and it was soo quiet and relaxing.”
Quiet lake for the family. Lifeguard on duty. Paddle boat and row boat rentals. Admission to the park is $5.00 per person. There are no trails for hiking here.
Nicely maintained state park with a boat launch, swimming beach and picnic areas on Dr Duggan Rd. Lake Superior is one of the best flat-water paddling places in Sullivan County. The entire shoreline is park land, so it's very green and natural.
Free park and parking during the off season. Please carry in/carry out so we can keep it that way. Great place for gathering, grilling, and wide open spaces for frisbees. There’s a nice 2 mile trail and lots of little quiet coves.

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
