Confirmed from Lake Vista Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Wanted to try something other than our boring normal walk around the block with my dog. It definitely did not disappoint. The trails were wide and well maintained. Love the fact they allow dogs! I will say that we passed some dogs who were not on a leash but they were well behaved so it wasn’t an issue.

Need more details on signs, didn't know where to start or turnaround.... didn't know until I ended up on another trail and saw a guy going back the way we came in. Very nice but woodsy, definitely not close to the water as I had imagined. Clean and evidence they do maintenance.

Nice graveled path for a nature walk through the woods. We took the dog (leashed of course) and she had a blast sniffing and watching the deer, chipmunks, and turtles. She also found ticks though, too - beware and check your dog after the walk. There were also people biking and running, so a very mixed use trail.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
