Came here specifically to hike the Allison Cemetery Trail and was glad I did. I arrived just after sunrise and had the trail to myself the entire 3.28 miles. The weather was perfect on 10 October 2025 even if the trail needed a little help - I.e. downed trees requiring off-trail work-arounds.
A big park built around the lake. There is plenty of camping and RV hook ups. There is a backpacking trail that goes along the lake with camping sites along the way. There's a park office where you can get brociers and information about the lake and park. The ranger and all the staff were helpful.
Sites have long gravel drives for trailer and toe vehicle. Unique fire pits and hangout space attached to each campsite. Trails are fun to hike not as well traveled as some state parks.
Over all had a great experience here. Very easy to reserve online but they do charge a fee of 6.50 on top of the site reservation. Our unit was a bit off level but website stated that. Does have access to water and a dump station in the campground. Most has electric at site.
