Confirmed from Lake Winnisquam Scenic Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Lake Winnisquam Scenic Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (56 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 10 mentions

“Very beautiful scenery, nicely paved for walkers, runners and cyclists.”

This is a wonderful multipurpose paved trail that is a just under two miles one way. We walked the full length out and back. The entire length is fully wooded with a section very near the lake that has noice water views.

I almost want to describe this trail negatively in hopes of keeping it a secret...gorgeous views... And easy walk or bike ride (I've done both). The only negative is that there is one part of the trail that is in the back yards of some very large cookie cutter homes which feels a little awkward because I feel like I…

Beautiful hidden gem. Lakeside walk in paved trail. Dog friendly. Nice views.

The parking is at Belmont Beach they actually have a special parking area for the trail and it's never full

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller

  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
