I am an avid cyclist and have frequented this trail many times since the mid 80s. Back then it was a narrow crude trail almost next to the water of Lake Ponchartrain that frequently was covered in many spots with debris from the lake.
This is a beautiful neighborhood to access the lake front trail. Unlike a lot of the more touristy areas, we got a chance to walk on a very peaceful area next to the lake. In addition, the neighborhoods themselves here are really well kept and beautiful.
Long paved trail for bikes and pedestrians all along the lake. Nice and easy. People walk their dogs on the levee as well. It's nice to see that it is kept clean as well.
