Confirmed from Lakeview Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Wonderful wide, paved path around a beautiful lake with gorgeous scenery. Great for strollers, bikes and scooters. Fun playground for the kids. Picnic tables and bathrooms. Small parking lot but plenty of additional street parking.

One of the things I love about San Marcos is all the trails. Lakeview park is a great get away right in the city. The park is small but shady and equipped for children to play. It overlooks Discovery Lake with access to the paved trail around the lake. The trail is just under a mile and has some shade.

Enjoy walking around the lake. Trail is an easy walk on level ground, fishing with license, dock, benches, lots of wildlife. Native plants, clean, well maintained. There are other trails that are moderate to difficult, great for jogging and running.

This is the newest addition to San Marcos's parks. It has a nice wide dirt path that's 1.19 miles around. Very easy walk with a few minor hills. It's a pretty oasis with lots of singing birds. Keep your eyes open for rattlesnakes, I saw a sleeping baby on the edge of the trail.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
