We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Langdale Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Dog-friendlyQuiet

Park with miles of hiking trails, boardwalks, and bridges, as well as picnic tables and grills.

What runners say about Langdale Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (44 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Sometimes there are alot of people there on the weekend but during the week its nice and quiet.”

This is an excellent park for nature viewing. There are so many extensive trails that run behind the sports field to the river and all points in between. There are picnic tables and it’s right on the Withlacoochee River. The park also has a boat ramp as well.

There has been A LOT of work done recently. The trail are now in the best shape that I have seen in over a decade. The boardwalks and bridges are being repaired or have been already been repaired. If you have not been a while, it is worth a second look.

We didnt drive all the way back but did enjoy the small dirt road wooded area near the creek where we let our dogs run for a bit. We didnt see any wild animals or see any other humans, other than 2 vehicles that came but turned around when they got towards us.

★★★★☆ — Toni , Dec 2025

Phenomenal park that has miles of trails being restored by TRAILS4valdosta. Perfect day hike location or fishing spot. Trails are currently ‘Hike at your own risk’ as they clear the hurricane damage. Love all the nature flora and fungi. It’s a quiet retreat from the rest of the city.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
