Confirmed from Larkin Woods/Franklin Gulf County Park Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Larkin Woods/Franklin Gulf County Park Trailhead
“Picturesque beautiful trails with deep woods, waterfalls, good trails easy and harder.”
“Trails are VERY well marked and are various distances giving the hiker choices.”
“Even when the parking lot is packed the trails aren't- it's always so peaceful and calm and just really good for the soul.”
First time here at the park with the two dogs. On the Orange Trail 2.8 mile hike, we had to cross the creek, twice. So, you will need to wear tall waterproof boots for this hike. It was a little challenging at the creek side getting back up with the dogs. The terrain is a little bit of everything!
This is my very favorite local place to hike! Even when the parking lot is packed the trails aren't- it's always so peaceful and calm and just really good for the soul.
This is a great trail with a lot of small waterfalls to explore. The orange trail is moderately challenging. Dogs can come on a leash. This loop trail is 2 miles and, on average, takes 52 minutes to navigate.
This is an amazing trail! You can have a quick hike or challenge yourself with a longer hike but nothings too difficult. Trail markers are well placed and makes it incredibly easy to switch from trail to trail.
