We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Dinosaur Hill Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Dinosaur Hill Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (231 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“Great view of what me and my friends call the far-East Bay (everything West of the hills that separate Berkeley from Lafayette, Orinda, etcetera).”

Dinosaur Hill Park has been here since I can remember. (1955) It is right in back of the house my Dad built at that time on Random Way. I loved climbing the hill up to the top so I could see the incredible view!!! I went there December 28th 2018 for the first time since 1960. WOW!!!

Looks easy but the long rolling hills made this simple trail a harder hike. The views are pretty all around and over all makes for a good one hour hike.

This park seriously has the best view of Mt. Diablo that you can get in the Easy Bay. There's beautiful oak trees on the top of the hill and beautiful little trails that curve over the hills. This place is nice for taking fun photos. In February, the hills are covered in a beautiful bright green grass.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
