Confirmed from Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This is a beautiful place to hike. While you are waiting to get a parking spot, you can visit the visitor center. It is an amazing place. Very very peaceful. It even has a sound meditation room where you can hear birds and also a rain storm. It was a real treat.

We had such an amazing day! The kids had a great time jumping off the 25 foot cliff. We missed out on a bear sighting, but saw the biggest bull moose we have ever seen and few of us saw a fox. The views are spectacular!!! Make sure you take the full trail if you have time.

★★★★★ — Caye , Jul 2023

We visited in early July and took the Woodland trail. We were there before 9am and waited for a parking spot. We were SO GLAD that we waited! The river was pretty and the small waterfalls fun but that view when you reach the lake, breathtaking!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
