We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Leaping Well Nature Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Took a walk down memory lane. This property was once owned by my grandmother, aunt and uncle. Spent many years on the property as a child and was very impressed with the work done to make this 21 acre property available for the public to enjoy. A very peaceful 0.7 mile walk on well maintained trails. Thank you!

Excellent little trail. Really well-marked with posts and tree markers. It does get a little steep in one or two spots, so watch your footing (especially if it's icy). With the leaves off the trees, you can get some decent glimpses of the Mt. Tom range

One of South Hadley's newest trails (2018), this short loop trail winds through an old field behind the Mosier school. The trail is well marked with blue squares and has bridges to cross some little streams. It's a short hike, with only 1-2 hills, easy to complete in 30 minutes.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
