Lewis and Clark Trail Stop: Pedestrian Viewpoint Location: Lewis and Clark State Recreation Site, Troutdale, Oregon This is the quintessential pedestrian viewpoint for the Lewis and Clark Trail in the immediate Gresham area.
The view gets four stars but getting there gets three. The trail is off of a fast speed road without parking. We decided to drive up to where there are some large homes and park there. Not sure if that is allowed but there wasn't any signage indicating otherwise.
Park up at officer's row and walk down. Usually easier to find parking and fewer people. Relaxing and relatively scenic - if you don't mind walking over hwy 14. After walking the water front by beaches, head back toward downtown and check out the new waterfront development.
The views are stellar on this trail. It was a warm day but the view was worth it.
