Confirmed from Lincoln Saline Wetlands Nature Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Lincoln Saline Wetlands Nature Center

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (39 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“It's a beautiful place as long as it hasn't rained much or if you remember to she your boots ( I did, I had a great time and dry feet.”

This is a great place close to Downtown Lincoln to get into nature, take a walk, and do some birdwatching as well. Nearly every time I go in the evening hours, I see several deer throughout the wetlands, and sometimes foxes and other small animals.

Simple hike. Out and back unless you make it a loop by using the neighborhood streets.

★★★★★ — Benjamin , Jan 2025

This is a very beautiful place for a walk. The trail is maintained well and goes from the parking area to the creek and back in a full circle. This is a nature area so it does not have a play or picnic area but instead lots of natural beauty. I often see enthusiasts with cameras taking shots of the bird population.

Amazing places --- We would walk here for field trips from Lakeview School - bet they don't allow that anymore. Great place to hike!! A+++

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 7 mentions

“There is a bridge on the west side of the wetlands near Capitol Beach, and you get a very nice view of the sunset over the homes in the neighborhood in the evening.”
