Confirmed from Lock 4 Mountain Bike Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Lock 4 Mountain Bike Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (116 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“The trails are well maintained, varying in difficulty, and there's well-planned sections of relief after those grueling uphill climbs.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“The trail has beautiful views of the Cumberland River, and there is plenty of wildlife to see (Deer are always there, and are not scared of people).”

Pretty looking park - easy to get to. But be aware -- THIS IS A BIKE PARK. This was not clear from the name given by Google, so my husband and I ventured here today planning to enjoy the trails.

★★★★☆ — Michelle , Aug 2014

My wife and I love this mountain bike park. It it has three levels of difficulty black, blue, and green level trails. The only issue with this trail system is that you can get lost very easily.

★★★★★ — Joseph , Nov 2023

Hiked here in May 2019. It's better set up for a bike trail than hiking. It has markers but several are on the ground on fallen trees. If you look at the map before you head out it will make following the paths easier. The areas closest to the water does have garbage that has washed up.

★★★★☆ — Julz , May 2019

Locke 4 is one of the best trail systems in the Nashville area. There are several miles of trail with varying terrain, but most are easy and Family friendly (However there are at least two jump lines for more advanced riders).

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 12 mentions

  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
