Really nice small state park close to Austin. We went there for the weekend for our first trip in our new camper. We picked it because it was close to home if anything went wrong. When we arrived the power was out to several site but not ours so it was not crowded.
If you're trying to avoid the crowds and still have some nice outdoor time, this is a great park for a day or weekend visit. It's quiet, more rustic than some of the other state parks I've visited, and it has a pool! That's always a big plus for these hot Texas days.
Hit this nearby park for the first time the day after Christmas. It is a small state park, probably most utilized for its nine hole golf course. Trails are limited, but well maintained and generally very easy to hike. There are educational markers and even a storytelling trail for the kids.
First time camping here and had a good time. There was a burn ban when we camped here which was a bummer. Campsite are pretty close to each so if you're bringing dogs, it's best that they do well when strangers are near. I'd love to come back and experience more of the trails and park.
