We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Lone Peak yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Strenuous peak hike to a summit with 360-degree views of the valley.
What runners say about Lone Peak
“Have not hiked up to Lone Peak for 20 years but it's a fun and very scenic mountain hike.”
One of my favorite peaks on the Wasatch front. You have to gain 5k in elevation over 5 miles so it is a constant incline; however the views at the top are out of this world. It feels like an entirely different world up there. Plenty of animals, trees and small streams.
Strenuous hike to get there, but definitely worth the views. Seeing both valleys is actually pretty incredible.
This is an epic place with some awesome 360-degree views. Haul twice as much water as you think you'll need, And I recommend a GPS with a breadcrumb trail so you can find your way home.
It's a long and tough hike. The views from the top are unreal. You'll need to bring a lot of water or a water filter because there's a source of water towards the top. I saw no children or dogs here. You'll also need sun lotion or your neck will burn.
