Confirmed from Lone Peak Wilderness' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Lone Peak Wilderness
What a great way to escape into the mountains. I stared at the lower bells reservoir trailhead (little cottonwood side) and ended up at a fantastic winter waterfall. I highly recommend going up the extra mile and half past the reservoir. The last bit starts to get steep but what a view!
Lone Peak Wilderness is a premier destination for people seeking rugged and wild outdoor adventures. The wilderness encompasses over 30,000 acres of breathtaking landscapes, ranging from rocky outcroppings, alpine meadows, and forested canyons that showcase the beauty of Utah.
Wonderful trail. Not much happens in the first 4 miles but the rest is truly amazing with spectacular views all around. The trip is 17.5 miles out and back. Notes: Take 5 liters of water, lots of snacks
