Confirmed from Long Key Natural Area & Nature Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

A great park with a bit of history attached to it! Did you know that 56 years ago this location was home to an Old West theme park, complete with a saloon, general store and gun fights at high noon? Or how about that the same ground was home to ever so popular Kapok Tree Restaurant in the 1974.

My wife and I wanted to visit a state park nearby Pembroke pines so we visited this one. Turned out to be very peaceful and beautiful. They have paved trails and unpaved horse trails with beautiful scenery. It was quiet and peaceful. Nice place to meditate and immerse yourself in nature.

Beautiful park and trails. Love that they pay homage to the previous tenants, Pioneer City and Kapok Tree Inn, with pictures and memorabilia in the Main Hall along with exhibits, fossils and interactive content for the kids.

★★★★☆ — William , May 2024

Beautiful Place for a wedding. The trails are great (watch out for banana spiders) Great place to hop on the equestrian trails in Davie if you ride. Everything is very clean and well taken care of. We had the whole place to ourselves to have a peaceful little walk.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
