Confirmed from Lookout Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Down-to-earth spot featuring grassy areas, swings and picnic tables for relaxation, plus sweeping vistas of the city.
What runners say about Lookout Park
“Pick a night with a few clouds in the sky 30-50% cloud cover at a medium height and you will be rewarded with a beautiful array of pinks, purples, reds and oranges.”
Great spot for Tuesday evening free yoga held by GR parks and rec. 7pm-7:45pm get here early for close parking and a spot in the shade of the big tree.
A lot of times, cities and nice sunsets don't necessarily go hand in hand. However, Lookout Park makes a nice attempt to flip the script on that. It's a simple park just outside of downtown that overlooks the Grand River valley. As such, the view is pretty spectacular.
Today, my husband brought me here for the first time! It is so beautiful!!! You can see for miles around the city. I am so excited to come back again and again as the seasons change. I am going to take a lot of pictures so I can see how the view changes in different seasons and different weather.
Decent view at one of the highest point in GR. It would be better if city trim some of the bushes off at the edge to provide more opening to look at downtown. Not remove the plants, just trim the tops a little bit.
Trail conditions & character
“Excellent view of the sun and nice vibes from others also watching - some groups of friends and families, some dates, some solo dog walkers.”
“However, if you arrive fairly early, you may not get just a great view, but a great parking spot to go with it.”
