Confirmed from Lopez Lake's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Reservoir set in rocky hills, popular for hiking, kayaking & fishing, with shoreline campgrounds.
What runners say about Lopez Lake
“Such a beautiful lake , I have got to get better at fishing it again I know there are some nice sized fish in this lake.”
There's a lot to love about Lopez Lake. The fact it's a short drive from the coast, tons of camping spots, fishing, boating, hiking and much more. We've gone here many times, sometimes for a quick day trip or weekend camping when we didn't want to drive for hours.
Camped and rented a pontoon boat. Weather was great. Only 8 miles from Arroyo Grande. Wild turkey visited our campsite.
Its a wonderful park for hiking, lots of trails with stunning views over the lake, lots of wildflowers in the spring.
