Confirmed from Lovers Leap State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Naturalistic park with walking trails leading past century-old industrial ruins.
What runners say about Lovers Leap State Park
“Lovers leap shows you a beautiful bend in the Farmington River, then the blue trail heads back into the woods.”
A beautiful walk through the Autumn woods. The bridge is a perfect photo spot. There's an absolutely gorgeous stone walkway down to the ruins.
Great park to visit/ hike with plenty of parking spaces. I really enjoy the bridge and all of the scenery surrounding it and the views are amazing with all the different trails you can explore, definitely recommend going there you won’t be disappointed.
Had a great time here many trails to hike on. Parking was perfect. Loved there’s bridge historic.
Upon entering we headed to the bathroom (after an hour long drive that is always nice to see) which has no lock so it's a two-person job, one to hold the door shut while the other uses the bathroom. After that we started off, are we on the blue trail or the yellow trail? We're not sure but we'll see where it takes us.
Trail conditions & character
“Really nice smaller hiking path with pretty views and lots of interesting history behind the park and buildings there.”
“Great park to visit/ hike with plenty of parking spaces.”
“The views are great if you're able to take the walk up the incline to the top.”
“As we were wondering we came across the Indian Spring House which is a little worse for wear but you can see that during its heyday it would have been a peaceful place to stay.”
