Confirmed from LSU - Skip Bertman Drive Levee Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring paved biking and running trails, plus a spot for viewing fireworks.
What runners say about LSU - Skip Bertman Drive Levee Trailhead
“Great view of LSU when at the top of the stairs looking back away from the river!”
The LSU trailhead is a great base for bikers looking to use the levee trail or explore campus and the surrounding area. There's a large seating area with great views of the river, especially at sunset.
Great place to hit the levee, plenty of parking and can avoid going downtown for parking, just walk or ride there. Great view of LSU when at the top of the stairs looking back away from the river!
Easy parking on weekends on non game days directly across river road. Can go three miles toward downtown. Or ten miles away from downtown to L’Auberge. Can go 25+ miles past L’Auberge on river road if you want. At least five miles past L’Auberge is safe for bikes.
I run on this levee from time to time. It’s always pretty nice. Good view of the river and tiger stadium. Kinda humid if it’s hot outside. Be careful crossing to the levee from the parking lot, I almost got hit by a Kia Soul. One time I saw a dead rat :(
