Confirmed from Mackle Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring a playground, a dog park, shuffleboard, bocce, basketball, sand volleyball & more.
What runners say about Mackle Park
“It also looked like there were well kept basketball courts, walking paths, and grassy sports fields.”
“A beautiful park, smooth paved trail, dog park, playground and activities for the young and older folks.”
“Our family loves it here and there’s options for all ages.”
Lovely park that is the perfect spot for a quick walk. Lots to do here.
We do not have many wooden castle parks SW FL it seems but I sure found a nice one. The park has a section for 2-5 & 5-12. I would like to see all Florida parks shaded for safety and comfort, that was the main thing that bothered me. The park was very cute & decent sized.
Super cute and nicely kept park! Decent amount of shade in the playground. Nice trek type boards throughout the playground. I really appreciate that they have a separate, smaller area for younger kids, and a larger area with more climbing and balance activities for older kids. Nice, separate splashpad too.
Great park. A lot of space to play, do activities with the kids, they always have youth programs going on, both inside and out. Large outdoor, covered basketball court, water feater for the kids to play in, multiple playgrounds, a pond you can walk around and fish in, volleyball and lots of other stuff, there is also…

“We didn't go inside the community center, but there was a clean, family restroom right near the splashpad.”
“My son loved the playground which was huge, and the water fountain.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
