Confirmed from Maggy's Hammock Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Nice, quiet park with large oak trees overhanging the concrete path.”

You always hear about hidden gems, but rarely are they gems. This one is. Didn't have lofty expectations about this park, but was surprised to find a unique trail with four unique biomes and fun habitats on an easy walk. There's a little playground in the middle of the park.

★★★★★ — Robert , Jul 2018

Part of the Great Florida Birding Trail, ADA accessible paved walkway, limited parking for 5-7 vehicles, sections of oak, Scrub, and pine, the unpaved walking trails could be marked a little better.

★★★★★ — Rob , Dec 2024

Perfect park for a quick hike and then stop in the clearing for covered picnic table, playground and small field. Nice tight foot paths travel in a loop from oak hammock to pine/scrub land. One paved path goes across entire park with playground at halfway point. Flora, fauna and fun, a great park for a variety of uses.

★★★★★ — Melissa , Nov 2018

It a great place to do natural hiking, take pictures with some trees, play with friends and families, do picnic, explore and more. There are some reading spots out of condiction, but is ok.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 7 mentions

“Only drawback is that some people do not clean up after their dogs and they also let them run around off leash.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
