Confirmed from Manatee Overlook at St. Sebastian River Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Manatee Overlook at St. Sebastian River Preserve
We came across the St. Sebastian River Preserve state park in Fellsmere while we were exploring the area. As we entered the park, we took a dirt road about 3 mile in until the road ended at the C-54 canal. That's where the manatee overlook is.
It was fun to happen upon this little spot, We came out to explore the trails, and it was a nice spot to look around! No manatees this time around but they did say it was a warm spot for them to come in cooler months.
Great place for walking dogs, hiking, fishing, or just sight seeing. I seen manatees, wild mama pig with piglets(adorable by the way, just dont get close), deer, turkey, sharks(further down river), alligators, and an assortment of fish and birds! Just a reminder, dogs are supposed to be on the leash.
Loved the ride and the view here..so relaxing and peaceful even though didnt get to see any manatees..no shade here unless you are inside the manatee overlook pavillion..carry water, sun hat and sun cream if you are planning to take a walk, jog or bike in this area as it is very sunny and hot.
