Confirmed from Manuel C. Castilla Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Playground, picnic tables, shade, baseball field and trails for jogging and walking.
What runners say about Manuel C. Castilla Park
“Totally loved at The Parks and Recreation motor field before our kite flying event the bathrooms are always clean I have a wonderful area for kids to play”
Accidentally pulled into the lot late at night when I was doing night photography of lit up buildings around Seguin. The plant in the pictures, the colorful lights of water tower, and couple other places..
I like this park because its small and somewhat private. It has a restroom and picnic area and a walking track. Its a nice quiet place to go for a run or be outdoors.
The park is great improvement from what it has been over the years. Soccer field, basketball, playground, walking path, cover picnic tables, rentable pavilion. The bathroom could use some work, prison style toilets. But otherwise, the park is very nice. Great job Seguin. 👏
Park is ok. Could be better. It's really small with only one playscape. Why hasn't Seguin invested more? The lap trail is fine and has normal cracks in it, though.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
