Confirmed from Margaret Eagan Sullivan Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Green space with a paved biking & walking path fronting Westchester Lagoon, plus mountain views.
What runners say about Margaret Eagan Sullivan Park
“Beautiful park, lots of great activities , again watch out for people on bikes as they go so fast and aren't watching for people walking.”
Margaret Eagan Sullivan Park is a peaceful and beautiful place right by the water, perfect for a relaxing walk or watching the sunset. The views of Cook Inlet and the mountains are stunning, and it’s a great spot to see airplanes taking off nearby.
This large park has a lot of room for kids to run and play. There is also easy access to the coastal trail.
Been using this trail for over 40 years and enjoy all the continual improvements. I always consider this park the "hub" of the paved bike trail system. From here, you can go to Eagle River, Kincaid, or up the Chester Creek trail. I'm a regular user, and now teaching my kid on the trails and for family outings.
Great jungle gym, beautiful lake and easy access to the Coastal Trail. Great little snack stand available in the summer months.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
