Confirmed from Westchester Lagoon Nature Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Recreational area for walking and birdwatching, as well as ice skating (in winter).
What runners say about Westchester Lagoon Nature Trail
“Beautiful ecosystem, trails are well kept.”
“Great spot for birdwatching, running, biking, Nordic skiing and ice skating in winter, and recreating with your family.”
I love walking the trail down to the birds. It's always peaceful and enjoying to watch all the birds. My wife and I like to take actual feed not bread to the birds. It's adorable to watch the babies follow their parents to eat the feed. This spot is always a pleasure in every season of the year.
Nice convenient trail to go downtown without going on the loud sidewalk, fun activities like maps, photos of local information, and great spot to stop and feed the ducks, great spot for a sunset viewing
Love this trail. There's the lagoon, park, you can play frisbee golf and definitely enjoy lots of walking. You can walk downtown and to the bluff from here.
Part of my favorite trail system in Anchorage. Plenty to see and do for activities. I love the view of the Chugachs, probably one of my favorite spots to see them. Great spot for birdwatching, running, biking, Nordic skiing and ice skating in winter, and recreating with your family.
