Confirmed from Margarette Falls Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Margarette Falls Trail
“It’s beautifully maintained, clearly marked, and offers some of the most breathtaking scenic views I’ve encountered.”
“The first part of the hike is a fairly flat & easy hike, but the hike gets more difficult as you go.”
Great little hike. It was well kept but there is a water crossing and a good little section of rocks! Beautiful waterfall at the end of the hike. The water was really flowing as it had rained several inches over the last several days.
I love this hike! It's not a long trail. It's a 2.4-mile round trip. The 1st 1/2 mile is easy. Very small incline. The rest of the hike, you get more of an incline, and the trail gets very rocky and rooted. You are along the creek side almost the entire way to the falls.
Very pretty waterfall....once you get there. Basically, from the parking lot to the first part of the incline lulls you into a false sense of security, however once you hit that first "step" it's almost non-stop for more than a mile.
Love this hike! Took our dog with, and was very enjoyable. We should have had hiking sticks, but that was our bad.

“The terrain gets pretty rocky and there are a lot of roots, and spots of steeper hills.”
“The rest of the hike, you get more of an incline, and the trail gets very rocky and rooted.”
