Having lived in Fort Worth area for over a decade, I had heard about this park but never got a chance to venture there. Went for a morning hike with some group of friends and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. There is enough change in topography to feel like one is hiking a hill.
If you’re looking for your next outdoor adventure in the DFW area, Marion Sansom Park is the spot! Hands down, this is the best hiking trail I’ve been on so far in the entire metroplex. The scenery is stunning, the air feels fresh, and the views are the kind that make you stop and say, Wow this is really Fort Worth?!
I arrived at 7am plenty of parking and visibility to the trail was perfect. There is not many markers in the trails. You will see deers 🦌and they are friendly. Wear hiking shoes some slopes are steep and the loose gravel does make it slippery. I want to say I did all trails available and it summarized to be 3 miles.
Marion Sansom Park is truly one of Fort Worth’s hidden gems! If you love exploring the outdoors, this park has some of the coolest trails in the area. Whether you're hiking, biking, or just taking a relaxing walk, the paths are well-maintained, easy to follow, and offer a perfect mix of adventure and calm.
