We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Massabesic Cliffs yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Really short hike to the overlook; trails are not labeled but definitely a fun adventure.

I went here on Easter with my boys. We spent a couple hours just walking, laughing, skipping stones into the water. Over all the perfect day. the "Hike" itself is not challenging at all, there is one hill but once your past that its pretty flat. We did stray from the intended path which only enhanced our visit.

★★★★★ — Billy , Jan 2024

This area is overall a beautiful environment with lots to explore. There are trails in different directions, widths, lengths and heights. Great area for biking, hiking, fishing, having a picnic and catching sunrises/sunsets. Be on the lookout for ladyslippers as there are many and be careful on the rocks.

★★★★★ — Adam , May 2022

Freaking wicked awesome, especially for someone from the Midwest Coast (Ohio). I've been on a couple of trails and bushwacked others (not literally, just following social trails). Great place to come to read a book or meditate, or just hike around and enjoy the scenery.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
