Confirmed from Matthews-Sardis Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Small, shaded neighborhood park featuring play equipment, picnic tables and swings.
What runners say about Matthews-Sardis Park
“Clean, well kept with metal seating available & covered shelter next to the playground.”
“My kids loved it, and I appreciated how it's secluded and shaded, with something for children of all ages.”
“There are rarely many people there so nice place for quiet picnic but not very good to take kids to make new friends.”
Small neighborhood park in Matthews, NC. Great for smaller children with a walking path (.3 miles) and open play area. No public restrooms but there’s a porta potty next to the parking lot. The park itself is tucked away and unnoticeable unless you’re looking for it.
Good shaded playground with walking trails, grassy field, and plenty of seating. Only a porta potty for bathroom but very natural and serene.
I had no idea this park existed, but I'm so glad I found it. My kids loved it, and I appreciated how it's secluded and shaded, with something for children of all ages. My kids, ranging from 2 to 13 years old, all had a blast, and we'll definitely be back
This is our local park and one of my favorites. It’s seems small, but there’s a lot to offer. There is a walking path that leads down to a forested area with a small creek after rainfall. There is a wooded area where the kids can use stumps and limbs to build forts, an open grassy field and a playground!
