Confirmed from Maurice River Bluffs Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

“Great views and the stairs incorporated throughout were great for people with arthritis/similar.”

🪧 well-marked 9 mentions

“Well marked trails, varied terrain (easy to moderate difficulty), porta-potty in parking lot”

Beautiful and adventurous nature hike. The trails are all very well marked and cared for. The trail offers various lengths for mild and moderate hikers and all trails require hills and steps made by roots or wood. There is a picnic table set over a beautiful water view. Wonderful place to hike.

We shot here for a weekend hike and the kids (13, 12, and 10) had a nice time. We loved the hiking and views. So nice that it isn’t all flat and sandy but local. Recommended.

Walked the Blue trail today. It was really hot out but beautiful. It was our first time visiting. Would love to come back and explore the other trails. We came across the ruins on this trail and saw two baby vultures (?) sitting in the doorway! Trails are clearly marked and beautifully maintained.

Great trails - loops that connect to one another so you can add as much or as little. Impossible to get lost. Some little hills give a great workout. Plan your walk ahead of time or bring your phone to access the maps (plenty of cell service). Plenty of parking. There are no bathrooms or porta potties on site though.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
