Confirmed from Mayde Creek North Hike & Bike Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Mayde Creek North Hike & Bike Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (86 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“Trails are clean and dog's are on leashes.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Nice place to bike through, my usual route goes through this and it's nice to go away from the busy road into the nice quiet neighborhood.”

The google maps and pin pointed area will guide you to a house, which has no entrance there. If you are walking, you would see a metal gated area with flat grassland and pavement walk way. If you're driving, best bet is to park at Barker Reserve Recreation center and walk to the little area.

This is a flat trail with lots of different scenery, from open grass fields, creeks, to more track like areas. Several different paths , but several lead to a stopping point forcing you to double back. I enjoy going here and connecting with nature.

★★★★☆ — Stacey , Jan 2023

I really love this trail because the whole family can enjoy by either running, riding the bike or the kids playing on the playground.

★★★★★ — Iris , Sep 2020

Connects to Cullen Park trail. Mostly used by locals to get to Cullen and kids to get to school.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 6 mentions

“This place is freaking awesome and if your dog is dog friendly it will be an awesome place for your dog as well and a great experience”

Plan your run at Mayde Creek North Hike & Bike Trail

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • Distance11 mi as reported — check whether that is one way or a round trip before you commit. Long enough for a real long run.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
