Confirmed from McDowell Creek Greenway Townley Road at Birkdale Village's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about McDowell Creek Greenway Townley Road at Birkdale Village
This Greenway has access to tons of parking at the Birkdale end and also parking at the ball fields. We always make our walk a loop up the greenway, through the ball fields and Robbins Park, then finish up going through Birkdale. Makes for a great walk and the last half is all down hill!!!
Great greenway for a leisurely walk, bicycling, a good jog or run and family friendly for the kiddos too.
2025.05.28 06:00 arrived and parked at the CATS Cornelius Park & Ride. And OUT i went for a fun walk in the intermittent drizzle (~7.8 mi, ~2.5 hrs) Loop : W Catawba Ave > McDowell Creek Greenway.
Nice way to go but make a left the right just leads to no trail after 5 min. The main road.
