Confirmed from McLhinney Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring a playground, swings, and trails that are good for walking dogs, as well as fishing.
What runners say about McLhinney Park
“Today we saw lots of turtles sunning themselves on logs in the pond, and a beautiful doe ran across our path!”
One of my favorite spots to walk in Havre! Just a quick note, Google maps doesn't take you to the right area to park. It takes you on a street where there's no parking and down a one way you can't go down. Take "N Adams" street onto "Park Dr." The Loop Trail address will take you to an area you can't park at.
Love walking this trail with my furbabies. It's very beautiful along the trail
Amazing trail to take your dog walking or just get out to exercise. Great views of both the railroad bridge and the hatem bridge and it goes on for miles it seems. Would recommend to anyone trying to enjoy nature.
We love walking the Joe K trail! It is a wonderful mix of shady woods, and breezy waterfront trails. Today we saw lots of turtles sunning themselves on logs in the pond, and a beautiful doe ran across our path!
Trail conditions & character
“We hiked through on the Mason-Dixon trail there was an unexpected climb up some rocks on the path but over all a nice path with a view of the bridge.”
“Great walk for people and dogs Susquehanna River walk A little remote - so prepare as needed if walking alone Protected from the sun by the tree canopy Enjoy”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
