Confirmed from McLoughlin Promenade's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about McLoughlin Promenade

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (43 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

“A beautiful path from the top of the Oregon City elevator along the bluff overlooking the willamette river and historic industrial complex.”

Favorite place to take doggo for a walk! The views are spectacular and a trip down the elevator takes you into the heart of downtown OC

★★★★★ — Lelia , May 2022

At the recommendation of a guide from the municipal elevator we went to check out the Promenade. Concrete path follows the bluff overlooking the Willamette River, Willamette Falls, and the Blue Heron Mill site (few movies were filmed here). Natural landscaping, several benches, great for a lunch break, very peaceful.

★★★★☆ — Henrietta , May 2024

Always love walking the promenade. Great views of the Arch Bridge, downtown OC, Willamette River and the Falls! Great local outdoor attraction and with an easy trip down our wonderful elevator or a walk down the Grand Staircase you are in downtown OC with all it has to offer

★★★★★ — Debbie , Apr 2022

A beautiful path from the top of the Oregon City elevator along the bluff overlooking the willamette river and historic industrial complex. Going to be great when industrial area restoration is complete! Hidden treasure in Oregon City.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
