Confirmed from Meadowlark Connector Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Meadowlark Connector Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (21 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

I've lived in Reston for a while but just started riding a bicycle recently and these trails are such a gift. You don't have to worry about traffic or congestion. It's just very pretty. I was told you could go a lot farther.

★★★★★ — Chris , Jul 2023

A nice little branch off the W&OD Trail that connects you to both Meadowlark Park and Wolf Trap and surrounding trails. There are portions that are directly on the road, but fairly easy to ride and with light car traffic. The trail is quite hilly, so you will feel your legs.

★★★★★ — Sam , May 2019

In the spring the birds sing. In the fall the trees are colorful. In the summer it is humid. The winter is a sheet of snow with bunny trails.

★★★★☆ — John , Jun 2020

The connector Trail with the foot /bike bridge opens up the W&OD trail to several neighborhoods that were previously unreachable. And walkers /riders on the W&OD now have access to the lovely Meadowlark Regional Park. A win-win for all.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
